Rolling Beds and Tumbling Guests

"Life is really simple, but we insist on making it complicated."

Picture this: I arrive at the hotel, weary from the journey, ready to sink into a comfortable bed and drift off into a world of serene dreams. But wait, what’s this? Wheels. The bed has wheels. Yes, the object that should be the epitome of stability and comfort is now mobile. Why? For the convenience of the cleaners, apparently. But I’m the one footing the bill here, not them sir.

Imagine trying to sleep on a bed that has the potential to roll away with every turn. It’s like trying to find tranquility on a runaway cart. I don’t need that kind of drama in my life. The bed should be an anchor, a steadfast haven in an otherwise chaotic world. But no, here it is, ready to roll at the slightest provocation.

The cleaners, bless them, want an easier job. I get it. But at what cost? My comfort, my sanity? Let’s be honest, I’d rather have a stationary bed and let the cleaning staff put in a bit more effort. A bed should be immovable, like a rock, not a fleeting shadow. They’re here for a few minutes to tidy up; I’m here to find rest.

There’s also a certain absurdity in the safety aspect. Imagine sitting on the edge of this wheeled monstrosity, trying to put on your shoes. One wrong move and you’re sliding across the room like an unsteady ice skater. It’s not just impractical; it’s a downright threat to my life.

So, here’s my plea to hoteliers: Keep the beds stationary. Let the cleaners work a little harder. I pay for a room with the expectation of stability. If I wanted a moving bed, I’d join a traveling circus. The essence of a good hotel stay is a bed that stays put, offering a sanctuary of stillness in a frenetic world. Let’s preserve that, for the sake of all weary travelers seeking solace in the temporary abodes of hotels.
